Cenmar Maritime Agencies [India] Pvt. Ltd., was established in August 2003 with the aim of selecting, recruiting, and maintaining qualified, experienced, healthy and certified seafarers for manning the managed vessels of its Operators. Over the last years, the importance of employing competent seafarers has greatly increased in modern shipping. In view of the application of the ISM, the STCW - 95 and the ISPS codes all quality shipping companies are obliged to pay specific care to the people that they are engaging on board.
Cenmar-India places great emphasis on the human factor or metaphorically the human capital. The 2 main objectives of establishing Cenmar-India are: To engage and carry on business of shipping, and any other lawful purpose related there to in India, To recruit and train seafarers for shipping purposes and to carry on superintendency, planning and administrative ship management functions, and to carry on any travel related services and business in India and aboard, for and on behalf of its Operators.
In line with the above Cenmar has identified certain key factors, which combined together to form a successful operation. In turn, this operation requires that certain standards are set out and apply to the entire manning process. The points considered important are set out in the present booklet, the aim of which is to form a solid foundation on which the relationship between Operators, Cenmar and Seafarers is to be based The Company is providing in-house training. The Training Officer ensures that apart from all the shore courses attended, in excess of STCW-95, he makes use of modern training tools such as CES 4.0, Seagull, Sets 6000, Videotel. In brief, the main concern of Cenmar-India is to produce a safer environment and a more efficient teamwork, ashore and onboard.
